Today I want to talk about a topic near and dear to my heart: Wellness Teas. I grew up with a very all–natural mother, who was NOT a hippie, please don’t be confused by that. However, she very much understood, even in the late 70’s and early 80’s that the chemicals we put in our bodies are not always as safe as we were led to believe. I grew up on Shaklee vitamins, whole food stores (yeah, before whole foods was a thing), sprouts grown in the window, vegetable gardens, and yogurt made at home.
Finally the times have caught up with my mother, and eating healthy or “clean” is a big deal. Unfortunately, time is also catching up with my mother and I, and over the years we have developed aches and pains from use and abuse.
That’s where Wellness Teas come in. These are teas that are made from herbs that have been used for thousands of years for their healing properties. There are teas for all different types of ailments, arthritis, detox, immune system, cold and flu, digestion, the list goes on.
If I could, I’d grow up to be the Good Witch. I’d own my own store, mix my own herbal teas, soaps and other concoctions and know just the right thing to say to put things right. Right now, I am not yet ready to throw down my own herbal concoctions and I rarely know the right thing to say. However, I do actually rely quite heavily on the Wellness teas we stock.
My personal lifeline is our Head to Toes tea. I have a genetic arthritis that haunts me every time the weather changes. The old adage for Kansas is, if you don’t like the weather, wait an hour. While funny, it’s also practically true. It is not unheard of for the state to visit all four seasons in a week. These fluctuations really irritate my joints. In response, I drink our arthritis tea filled with lots of anti-inflammatory goodies like turmeric, lemon grass, and cardamom, and it makes a major difference in my life.
My husband, daughter and several of our customers swear by our Zesty Tulsi for Colds and Flu. Filled with things like anise, tulsi, ginger, cinnamon and orange pieces, it’s wonderful for all the symptoms associated with colds or the flu. As a bonus it’s great tasting!
The world of luxury teas and herbs offers an amazing array of all-natural health benefits. I’d love to hear what works for you!
