Blue Sunshine is a soothing blend of clarifying herbs and adaptogens to help you fight back against the blues! Blue Sunshine is a combination of fruit, herbs, and flowers that have been used in traditional medicine and Ayurvedic practices to decrease anxiety, ease digestion, improve sleep quality, enhance cognitive function, and improve overall wellness. We begin with a layer of apples for their antioxidant and immune boosting properties because a healthy body is important for a healthy mind. Next, we added Ashwagandha, Tulsi, and St. John’s Wort, which are part of a class of plants called adaptogens. These potent adaptogens are meant to help your body respond to stress. Research on ashwagandha continues to evolve as scientists study its efficacy in treating anxiety. Experimental studies are researching how Tulsi can improve general stress levels and aid with symptoms of forgetfulness. To top things off, both Lemon Balm and St. John’s Wort have been nicknamed ‘sunshine herbs’ for their purported mood boosting qualities, with most research focusing on their impact on individuals with seasonal affective disorder. The inclusion of Butterfly Blue Pea Flower not only turns the cup a beautiful teal color but adds a dose of antioxidants to aid with relaxation. This caffeine-free tea is a perfect blend of herbs with antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, anxiolytic, and antidepressant properties.

Hot Tea: Bring filtered or freshly drawn cold water to a rolling boil. Place 1 teaspoon of herbal tea for each 7-9oz/200-260ml of fluid volume in the teapot. Pour the boiling water into the teapot. Cover and let steep for 5-10 minutes according to taste (the longer the steeping time, the better the flavor as more fruit and herb flavor is extracted). Garnish and sweeten to taste..
Iced Tea (1 L/Qt): Place 12 slightly heaping teaspoons of herbal tea into a teapot or heat resistant pitcher. Using filtered or freshly drawn cold water, boil and pour 1¼ cups/315ml over the herbal tea. Steep for 5-10 minutes. Quarter fill a serving pitcher with cold water. Pour the tea into your serving pitcher straining the tea or removing the tea bags. Add ice and top-up the pitcher with cold water. Garnish and sweeten to taste. A rule of thumb when preparing fresh brewed iced herb & fruit tea is to increase the strength of hot brew since it will be poured over ice and diluted with cold water.
